SWAT season 4 is one of the few shows coming back to work during the current global health crisis. While it's challenging to film amid the pandemic, cast and crew are following certain health guidelines to make sure everyone is safe on set.

In a recent Instagram post, series star Shemar Moore, who plays Hondo, shares a photo of himself wearing a complete uniform and a face mask. Also, he revealed in the caption that they are on the sixth day of filming SWAT season 4.

Even before filming started, Moore has been sharing updates on his social media account. He often posted photos of himself while preparing and training for the intense scenes in the new season. The actor was able to maintain his fitness, which is required for his job in the series.

However, although the series has started filming, we could see changes in the story once it returns. For instance, some scenes might look different as cast and crew need to follow strict health guidelines. Maintaining a proper social distancing is needed to keep everyone safe on set.

It remains to be seen whether or not all the characters will be sporting a mask when SWAT season 4 premieres. But, since the series has been trying to tackle current events over the past years, it only makes sense if they did wear a mask this time around.

The story could address the real-life events happening at the moment, including the pandemic. CarterMattnoted that the premiere could be all about how these officers are working amid the global health crisis while also dealing with timely issues, including police brutality and reform.

The series has tackled the latter issues already, but it looks like they'll continue to flesh out these topics in SWAT season 4. Speaking to The Huffington Post, executive producer Aaron Rahsaan Thomas revealed that they're planning to expand the conversation about these matters.

He said that people shouldn't see these issues as something fearful, and instead, they should view them as an opportunity to address more relevant topics. Also, the series' official writers' room shared on Twitter that the new installment will be "working hard" to mine the truth about these issues.

SWAT season 4 has no official release date at the moment. But if the current production schedule will be maintained, we could expect the new installment coming this fall on CBS. The series is slated to air every Wednesday at 10 PM Eastern Time, followed by The Amazing Race, and then SEAL Team.
