Meghan Markle had been striving to be the best version of herself since way before she met Prince Harry. The former actress had high hopes for her future, so she started learning to excel at things at a young age.
According to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s unofficial biography, Finding Freedom, the Duchess of Sussex was branded “fake” by her classmates for being too “perfect.” Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed that the Duchess of Sussex didn’t always fit in and felt like she had “more to prove.”
“Meghan's willingness to help others and her drive to excel meant she was often deemed ‘fake’ by classmates at school who felt it was impossible for anyone to be that ‘perfect.’ She was voted homecoming queen. A natural performer and someone who sought out praise, Meghan was coming into her own,” the book read.
Meghan Markle attended the private Little Red Schoolhouse in Hollywood and went to Immaculate Heart High School during her teenage years.
It seems like Meghan hasn't been able to catch a break from her critics since she was young. Fast forward to today, and she is still experiencing the same problem. Ever since she got married to Prince Harry, she has been bombarded with criticism – even over the tiniest things.
Omid Scobie previously said on VICE TV’s Meghan Markle: Escaping The Crown that Prince Harry’s wife was a “huge opportunity” the Royal family has missed. The royal editor of Harpers Bazaar US and host of the royal podcast The Heir Pod appeared on the documentary and shared his thoughts about the Royal Family letting go of the former actress.
He pointed out that the treatment of Meghan Markle was reminiscent of how Princess Diana was treated when she left the Royal family after her divorce from Prince Charles. Omid Scobie said that they should have done more to support the Duchess of Sussex during her troubled times.
During an interview with Tom Bradby for the ITV documentary, the anchor asked Meghan Markle about the impact of public scrutiny on her. The Duchess of Sussex replied, "Thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I'm okay. But it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
Although Meghan Markle said some valid points, a lot of netizens were not impressed at all. Instead of receiving some sympathy, she was bashed even more for it.
