Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down as senior royals so they could live a more peaceful life. However, their unofficial biography “Finding Freedom” thrust them back into the spotlight, and their names are on everybody’s lips again.

The book contains claims about why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to relinquish their royal roles. According to a royal expert, Finding Freedom just revealed the “selfish” and “controlling side” of the couple.

“When Meghan talks of ‘giving her life’ to the institution of monarchy, it’s important to remember that they didn’t last two years after they married as senior working royals… They come across as a couple with many talents but who are also extremely selfish and controlling,” Richard Fitzwilliams said.

Before the release of Finding Freedom, the royal commentator already warned the book could be like “dynamite” that could cause more rift for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Richard Fitzwilliams, previously, said that the couple’s tell-all book may cause “serious harm” to their relationship with the Royal Family members, especially Queen Elizabeth.

A previous report even claimed that Buckingham Palace branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’sFinding Freedom as a “soap opera.” Soap operas are radio or television series, which are known for their sentimental and melodramatic episodes.

However, the new book is not the only thing that could drive a wedge between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Royal Family. The Duchess of Sussex filed a lawsuit against the publisher of The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline for publishing part of her private letter to her estranged father Thomas Markle in 2018.

In the documents, Meghan Markle’s legal team claimed that she was “unprotected by the Institution” while pregnant. It was, also, stated that the Duchess of Sussex was frustrated that the Royal Family approach “prohibited” her from “defending herself.”

This is not the first time that Meghan Markle implied that the Royal Family did not support her. The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her struggles to Tom Bradby in the documentary titled Harry & Meghan: An African Journey last year.

The anchor asked Meghan Markle about the impact of public scrutiny on her. The Duchess of Sussex, then, replied by thanking him for asking how she was feeling because she said that “not many people” have asked if she was okay, seemingly hinting that the Royal Family didn't care about her situation.
