There is little doubt that musicians could be inspired by other artists in a way that could influence their own works. However, there is a huge difference between paying tribute to an inspiration and plagiarizing someone's creative work.

This might be the case with Nigerian artist Lyta whose new music video is being accused of plagiarism. Fans of GOT7 and BTS claim that the musician had plagiarized the MVs for "Just Right" and "Boy With Luv" in Lyta's music video for his song "Hold Me Down".

The "Hold Me Down" music video was released on August 14 and although Lyta's fans were delighted with the bright and cheerful vibe in the MV, it didn't take long before people started noticing the similarities with another popular music video.

Ahgases were aghast when they realized that the video copies key points in the "Just Right" MV where a young girl opens a drawer and finds GOT7 member Jackson singing on top of a foundation cushion. Moreover, the girl turns around to check behind a cereal box and finds the boy group dancing, something that is copied by Lyta along with two dancers.

The similarities don't end there. At one point, the tiny version of Lyta sits on top of a toy zebra and reaches out to the girl. It's almost a direct copy of GOT7's Yugyeom doing the same thing in the 2015 music video. There is even a scene where the Nigerian musician is sitting in a bowl of candies just like BamBam in the "Just Right" MV.

Needless to say, GOT7 fans were unhappy with the plagiarism and immediately took to social media to accuse Lyta of copying the boy group. Soon, even BTS fans noticed that there were also similarities between the "Boy With Luv" MV and "Hold Me Down".

Although the similarities are more subtle, it hasn't stopped Army from pointing out that even the lamp post in the bright building in Lyta's music video is in the exact same spot as the one seen in BTS's MV.

For now, Lyta has yet to issue a statement about the accusations. At the same time, the boy groups have not indicated if they are aware of the "Hold Me Down" music video. GOT7 and BTS fans have decided to send emails to JYP Entertainment and BigHit Entertainment in an effort to get the artist to answer for the plagiarism accusations.
