Like many young girls her age, Princess Charlotte apparently has a toy tiara that she loves to wear. The only daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton is apparently aware that she's a real princess but her parents make sure she remains grounded.

A source told Us Weekly that Princess Charlotte now knows of her status as a royal. However, despite being told that there is something special about her and her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, she is apparently not a spoiled kid.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly "go out of their way" to raise Charlotte and her siblings in a normal environment. When the little princess turned five years old in May, her mother baked a cake and the kids pitched in to decorate it.

At five years old, Princess Charlotte apparently feels like a grownup. She chooses her own clothes with her mother's help. She also doesn't get intimated by crowds unlike other kids her age. The source said that Charlotte is the most confident of the Cambridge children and is "quite the leader of the pack."

Royal expert Katie McNicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Princess Charlotte is also a bit of a tomboy and an adventurer. In school, the kids call her the "Warrior Princess" because she's not afraid of climbing trees or trying new things.

As the fourth in line to the British throne, Princess Charlotte will grow up to be a working royal one day and might likely hold the title of Princess Royal when her father becomes the king. The current Princess Royal is Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's only daughter, who recently turned 70. Princess Charlotte and Princess Anne are alike in many ways in terms of confidence and leadership.

The title of Princess Royal is traditionally given to the first daughter of the monarch. However, it is not an automatic title, especially if another Princess Royal is still alive. Queen Elizabeth didn't bestow the title on Princess Anne until 1987. Before her, the Princess Royal was the Queen's aunt, Princess Mary, the only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary of Teck.

Princess Charlotte will also not receive the title of duchess when she is of age. Only young male members of the royal family may receive a dukedom from the monarch and this rule hasn't changed for many centuries.
