Jungkook is one of the most popular and influential artists in the K-pop world. A lot of fans are so enamored of him that they would, most of the time, follow his lead.

The Golden Maknae can sell out items that he doesn’t even endorse in a matter of minutes — that’s how huge his impact is to ARMYs. But when Jungkook was spotted with tattoos on his hand last year, many believed it was fake.

While ARMYs have seen Jungkook’s alleged hand tattoos multiple times, the 22-year-old singer, songwriter, and record producer has been wearing sweaters, jackets, coats, long sleeves, and skin patches that covered up his whole arm. Despite his attempt to hide it, ARMYs have long speculated that Jungkook has tattoos in his arm.

It was, eventually, confirmed that Jungkook’s tattoos were actually real. One of the main reasons why the BTS star has not shown his tattoos and Big Hit staff most of the time covered them up is because tattoos are not openly accepted in South Korea.

While tattoos are not illegal in the country, they are quite controversial. With Jungkook being a member of the biggest boy band on the planet right now, his clean image is very important because any minor mistake or controversy will affect the group.

But, a sneak peek that came from BTS’s preview of their Japan Official Fanmeeting Vol.5 changed all that. In footage from 2019, Jungkook can be seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt, flaunting his tattooed hand and forearm.

International ARMYs have been urging Jungkook to show his tattoos. BTS has been telling their fans to love themselves for years, and many believe that the golden maknae should practice what they preach.

So, when fans saw Jungkook finally showing his tattoos off, they were happy and proud of him. “Jungkook in short-sleeved shirt??? We’ll get to see his tattoos in all its glory,” one posted on Twitter. “We’re all really freaking out because of his tats!” another one wrote.

On the wee hours of May 3, Jungkook posted a clip of himself singing to Lauv’s “Never Not,” wearing a short-sleeved shirt that flaunted more of his tattoos. (Watch the video here). The BTS star appeared to be done with covering himself up and confidently showed his tattoos to everyone. It’s, now, up to the fans to continue loving him or turn their backs on him.
