Jadon Sancho seems set to play the coming season with Borussia Dortmund with Manchester United failing to meet the deadline set for a possible transfer. However, some feel that the Red Devils may continue their pursuit though the chances of making it happen have become harder.

BVB is seeking a whopping $142 million for Sancho, a hefty sum that United is unlikely to come up with. But anything is possible in the coming days. Seeing however how the 20-year-old is already part of Dortmund in pre-season training, it may no longer make sense to see the English winger exit Signal Iduna Park in the coming months. The earliest likely time that may happen is next season, a time where he could be better and worth more.

For Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki, Sancho should take his time and not rush into something right now. He sees Sancho still being in demand moving forward. Right now, he feels the English football player should just enjoy his time with the German club and just go with the flow of things.

"I don't think Jadon is sad to continue to be part of Borussia Dortmund. He comes to training with a smile and is happy to be with us," Burki said to Kicker.

Though they may not be openly saying it, that could be the plan for the Red Devils moving forward. Most clubs are trying to find ways to survive financially, a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Games are being played under modified conditions, particularly no audience.

From a business perspective, this translates to no gate revenues and such has hit their income hard. Add to that the last months when sports had to be halted, one can just imagine the millions lost from the quarantine period that was needed to look out for the well-being of players and spectators.

Most see the situation improving at some point. The tale could be different after the coming football season. For Sancho, it would not be surprising if teams come rushing once more to check if he is available. Being young, he is likely to improve further. And on the part of BVB, that only gives them a reason to raise their asking price to fend away interest from other clubs.

United is expected to make another run at Sancho once their financials are settled. But most see other clubs entering the fray. Among the clubs likely to join in are Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid. But in the end, it all boils down to the club that has a budget.
