The CW finally revealed the official return date of Supernatural season 15. The current installment, which serves as the series finale, has been off-air since March. The series halted its production due to the global health crisis. Now, many are delighted to see that Dean and Sam will be coming back within a few months.

Originally, Supernatural season 15 was set to conclude in March 2020. However, because of the pandemic, the show changed its direction, with the seven remaining episodes arriving in the fall. It has been confirmed that the series finale will return on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

The good thing is that some episodes had already been filmed even before the real-life health crisis hit. One of the reasons The CW held these episodes back was because of post-production. In addition, the network wants to make sure there's a new batch of episodes airing in the fall.

Episode 14 is the first installment of Supernatural season 15, with the title "Last Holiday." The episode sees Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) discovering a wood nymph (Meagan Fey) living in the bunker. She is determined to protect her family, at any cost.

The episode is directed by Eduardo Sanchez and writer by Jeremy Adams. The CW released a new photo of the episode featuring Dean and Sam, who are seemingly solving a case with their Impala. The Winchester brothers are back in action again and it's exciting to see what else is coming for them.

Meanwhile, Deadline reported that Supernatural season 15 is currently filming its remaining two episodes (episodes 19 and 20). The goal of the series is to wrap everything up over the next few weeks, with the epic two-hour event slated to air on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The remaining episodes are going to be intense, big and dramatic at the same time. There are a lot of stories that need to be covered and loose ends that should be tied up. Also, cast and crew have been working together for more than a decade, so the finale is emotional for them, as well.

Meanwhile, the global health crisis has also impacted Supernatural season 15. Previously, Ackles revealed that the scripts they originally planned in March have been changed to accommodate the pandemic. Some of these changes include eliminating certain scenes, as well as reducing group scenes and people on set to follow proper social distancing measures.
