Miley Cyrus always does her thing no matter what the situation is. The 27-year-old star is, reportedly, doing okay after her breakup with her boyfriend of 10 months, Cody Simpson.
A source told People Cyrus is fine and, now, more focused on her new music. Despite the split, the former couple remained "super supportive of each other." There is no drama between them as they both wanted to maintain their decade-old friendship.
After the news of their breakup broke out, Cyrus confirmed the news on an Instagram Live session. She said they were both "individually working on themselves" right now, explaining two halves could never be a whole.
However, as they started as friends, the singer-songwriter said people should never be surprised if they would be spotted out and about in the future. She told fans they did not have to create a drama story out of their reunion if they, once again, hang out and grab a pizza.
With the longevity of their friendship, they would continue to be close pals. It seemed to be an early warning from Cyrus as she stressed people did not have to make it "something that it was not."
To show they were amicable, Simpson even congratulated his ex-girlfriend on the release of her new song, "Midnight Sun." He said he was so proud of her and called her the "most special of all." He even advised her to "cop that new new."
TMZ broke the news that Cyrus and Simpson had split up after 10 months of being together. Unlike Cyrus, Simpson has yet to address the issue but there were rumors they had been apart for several weeks before the news emerged. People even noted they broke up in July.
In October last year, the 23-year-old Australian singer made a special poem for Cyrus on Instagram, revealing that they were making love while listening to Elvis Presley. However, the poem had since been deleted.
Although they had parted ways, BuzzFeed noted their matching tattoos remained. In March, they both got inked with "his-and-her tridents" on their arms. This design was different from the set of tattoos they picked up together on one of their first dates in public in October 2019.
Before Cyrus confirmed the news of their breakup, she posted a cryptic quote on Instagram as she promoted "Midnight Sky." She captioned her snap with "forever and ever no more" and "head high up in the clouds."
