Warrior Nun season 2 is, officially, happening on Netflix. Recently, the streaming platform confirmed the fantasy drama is coming back for another installment. The series premiered on July 2, 2020, starring Alba Baptista as Ava Silva.

Following the renewal of Warrior Nun season 2, cast members react to the news and all of them were delighted that the series is coming back for another installment. Yet, viewers have to wait for a little while to see the show coming back on Netflix.

Considering the current health crisis, production may not start anytime soon. In addition to this, the show is a mid-budget scripted series, which means it requires a lot of VFX work. Usually, there's a wait for more than a year between seasons.

Hence, we can't expect Warrior Nun season 2 premiering soon on Netflix. For now, a lot of works are needed to be done and factors that should be considered. If ever, we can expect the new installment coming in either late 2021 or early 2022.

The good thing is that the long hiatus could give the creative team some time to prepare what's coming next. There are a lot of stories worth-exploring here, especially with how season 1 concluded. The episode left a huge cliffhanger, leading to more stories in the future.

Warrior Nun season 2 will pick up the events that happened in season 1 finale. It was revealed that the "angel" Adriel (William Miller) wasn't an angel at all. He is a devil who stole the halo. He managed to hide artifact to the Original Warrior Nun.

Also, Adriel was the one who made the Order of the Cruciform Sword so he could protect himself from the wrath of Heaven. He's initially trapped in a tomb beneath the Vatican City, but he escaped and summoned an army of wrath demons.

The first season ended with Shotgun Mary (Toya Turner) overwhelmed by the number of possessed people, while the other nuns fought against Adriel and his demons. The finale sets up more stories and new fights, as well as more mysteries moving forward.

Warrior Nun season 2 could answer the question where the portal leads, where Jillian Salvius' (Thekla Reuten) son went through. In addition, the story could see the Order of the Cruciform Sword figuring out its real purpose. More secret about it may unfold, especially since its origins have been exposed as a lie. These stories will further be explored once the series returns on Netflix.
