Meghan Markle "didn't listen" to Camilla's advice about handling pressures inside the British royal family. She reportedly "ignored" the guidance - and ultimately left royal life.
A source told the Daily Mail that the Duchess of Cornwall repeatedly invited Prince Harry's then-girlfriend for private lunches. She encouraged Markle to "focus on the positives" of her new position.
When it comes to bad press Prince Charles' wife told the former actress to ride it out and let it pass. Prince Harry, also, received the same advice from his father before their wedding in 2018.
The revelations came from a friend of Markle who said Camilla was "sensitive" to the former actress. She "provided" support and Meghan listened, at first.
The source added that her friend "understood" the Duchess of Cornwall as well as the difficulty of joining the royal family. But, despite being "grateful," the Duchess of Sussex later said in an interview that the royals gave her very little support.
Reports recalled her statements from the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey. She told Tom Bradby that "not many people" in her surroundings asked if she was OK.
Camilla understands what Markle was feeling before joining the firm, according to the Daily Express. Just like the Duchess of Sussex she lived a "normal life" before her union with the Prince of Wales.
She, also, experienced being the subject of many negative headlines - especially because of her affair with Prince Charles when he was married to the late Princess Diana. So, it made total sense that she wanted to support Prince Harry's future wife.
Royal aides later on revealed that the Duchess of Cornwall also did the same with Kate Middleton. Before the Cambridge couple's wedding in 2011 she reportedly gave advice to the Duchess of Cambridge.
Finding Freedom continues to make headlines. The Sussex-centered book features several allegations about Markle, Harry and the rest of the royal family.
Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote that the Duchess of Sussex "expected" the Duchess of Cambridge to help her settle into royal life. However, the book says Kate Middleton "did little" to help and Markle felt "let down" by her sister-in-law.
However, other sources said the Cambridge couple did everything to help the former actress to settle in.
