It has taken several years but fans are finally getting what they want next year. Zack Snyder's own version of Justice League has already been confirmed to air on HBO Max in 2021 and the filmmaker took part in his own panel at DC FanDome where he unveiled its first trailer.

Interestingly, the teaser immediately confirmed that Darkseid will play a major role in the Justice League Snyder Cut. In addition to that, Snyder revealed that the movie is so long that it will need to be split up in to four parts.

The Justice League Snyder Cut was undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated panels at DC FanDome considering that Zack Snyder had previously teased that the trailer for the film will be dropped during the event. Additionally, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director had stated that the new version will not feature any footage that he didn't personally film.

With that in mind, fans were curious as to what Snyder had actually envisioned for the 2017 movie. Luckily, people now have an idea of what could happen through the official teaser.

The Justice League Snyder Cut trailer opens with Darkseid striking a blow as well as a shot of a stricken Superman seemingly taking the hit. It is immediately made clear that the DC supervillain has taken over the planet as there is a glimpse at the destroyed Justice League building while parademons are shown flying around and checking the vicinity.

Interestingly, it is in the same shot that a Joker card floats into view, a clear reference at the Clown Prince of Crime. However, the card disappears and the teaser shifts to show new footage of the superheroes.

Diana Prince is the first superhero to show up and it appears she had travelled back to Themyscira to discover that the Motherbox has been taken from the Amazons.

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne is studying a hologram of Superman and Aquaman heads for the raging oceans. There is also a glimpse at Vic Stone as a young football player before his accident while Superman shows up in his black suit and Barry Allen saves Iris West from a car accident.

According to Zack Snyder, the Justice League Snyder Cut is a lengthy project and would need to be split into four parts. The filmmaker also revealed that each part will be four hours long so the movie could end up being more of a mini-series than a full-length film.

Zack Snyder's Justice League has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to premiere on HBO Max in 2021.
