BTS is known for giving back to the community. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have never taken their success for granted, and would always use it for the greater good.

On July 29, Jimin’s father presented KRW 100 million (USD 85,000) to the South Jeolla Office of Education on behalf of his son. The BTS star’s donation is meant to school students in South Jeolla Province, Korea.

While the donation was made a month ago, the Office of Education, recently, made the good deed public. The chairman of the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation, Jang Seok Woong, told the press that Jimin’s donation will be used carefully to convey the BTS star’s good influence on the students.

The South Jeolla Office of Education, also, revealed that they plan to add Jimin to the South Jeolla Education Hall of Fame for his generous contribution.

After Koreaboo posted the article about Jimin’s donation on Facebook, a lot of people were happy and touched with his kind gesture. However, one netizen was not that impressed.

“Please be like other idols, make charity on anonymous identity,” the commenter suggested. ARMYs then fire back, noting that Jimin didn’t put his name out there, but it was the Office of Education that made it public.

“There's the keyword quietly/quite. It's not his fault because those offices made it public,” one replied. “Duh, they tried that, but still gets revealed to the public since they are so famous. Having it know to the public doesn't make the deed less good. Also, this is a good thing since BTS impact is huge that they can influence others to do the same,” another one shared.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Jimin donated to educational development. Back in February, the BTS star donated new desks and chairs to students at his alma mater, Busan High School of Arts. He, also, donated 100 million won to Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education in 2019 and paid for graduating students’ uniforms at his former elementary school in 2018.

Just like Jimin, the rest of the BTS boys are, also, known for donating quietly. But, just like what the ARMY said above, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are just too famous that whatever they do quickly becomes a hot topic.

Recently, it was revealed that J-Hope donated KRW 100,000,000 (USD 84,407.00) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to help out disadvantaged children, including those from low-income families.
