Better Call Saul season 6 will continue to explore the origin stories of certain characters. The series has been doing this over the past years, which gives viewers some answers but leaves questions at the same time. Some characters here are completely different in the sequel Breaking Bad timeline.

For instance, Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring is one of the most mysterious characters in the prequel. While his story has been addressed is the series, some of the things he's been through could be further revealed in Better Call Saul season 6.

Only a few details about Gus were known right now. There are a lot of questions around him, most especially what went through in the past. This is something that's worth exploring, given that the upcoming installment serves as the series finale of the spin-off.

Esposito shared how his character evolves from the prequel and in the Breaking Bad. There are a lot of interesting differences here, particularly in terms of emotion and how Gus can process the things that are happening around him.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Esposito discussed how his character changes over time. He said that he wanted Gus to be a little more irritated and hotheaded in the spin-off, while in Breaking Bad, his character tends to keep his chips close to the back.

Esposito explained that Gus always masked his feelings, something that he wanted to see more in Better Call Saul season 6. We could see the character even more irritated in the final chapter and it could explain why he's a little different in the early days of the sequel.

Also, Esposito said he's excited what's next for Gus and Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) in the final installment since the latter isn't quite present in the Breaking Bad timeline. Perhaps, we could see an ultimate showdown between the two characters before the series officially concludes.

Meanwhile, Better Call Saul season 6 hasn't kicked off production as of this writing. There's no official update when cast and crew could go back working. The filming schedule of the final chapter has been delayed due to the current health crisis.

The biggest challenge for the series is starting everything up amid the pandemic. Executive producer Peter Gould told The Hollywood Reporter that Sony works hard to figure out to shoot not only the series but for the safety of all their programs.

Gould is hoping they could start filming Better Call Saul season 6 in the immediate future. Yet, they need to follow certain health measures and protocols before returning to work. If ever the situation goes back to normal, we could expect the series finale arriving at some point in 2021.
