Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp came under fire after he, allegedly, used a racial slur in an old video of him that was shared online and went viral. The young actor denied that he used the N-word but apologized for making the video.

The #NoahSchnappIsOverParty trended on social media after a video of Schnapp singing along to Chris Brown and Lil Dicky's song "Freaky Friday" surfaced online. In the original song, the duo used the N-word several times.

In the clip featuring Noah, the young actor was seen in the back of a car as he sings with his friends. As he started singing, Noah asked his friends if he can say the N-word before he repeated the slur multiple times.

Not long after the video was shared online, the 15-year-old star received backlash from netizens. This prompted Schnapp to post a letter on his Instagram Story denying that he used the racial slur.

He explained that, instead of saying the N-word in the song, he replaced it with the word "neighbor." Schnapp stressed he will never use the N-word.

Noah Schnapp added his friends would also never post the video or support him if he uttered the offensive word in it. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that many found the video offensive and he apologized for making it.

Apparently, the video was originally shared by one of Schnapp's friends on Instagram. The original post, however, has been deleted since.

This is not the first time this month that the Canadian-American actor was slammed on social media. Last week, Noah confirmed that his Twitter account has been hacked after a series of inappropriate sexual comments, racial slurs, and suicide references were posted on his account.

Last month, Schnapp was forced to address an accusation that he was friends with the Instagram account owner that shamed his Stranger Things co-star, Millie Bobby Brown. Both Schnapp and Brown rose to stardom in the Netflix science fiction-horror series.

Noah Schnapp is set to reprise his role as Joyce Byers' (Wynona Rider) son, Will, in the upcoming Stranger Things Season 4. The fourth season started filming early this year but it had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of the Netflix series, recently, revealed that Season 4 will not be the last for the show. The Duffer Brothers said the pandemic gave them time to plan for the future of the show.
