One of the biggest twists in Lucifer season 5 is the arrival of the titular character's twin brother, Michael. There are a lot of questions about this character, who's also played by Tom Ellis. His storyline will be further addressed moving forward in the second part of the season.

Through the first half of Lucifer season 5, we've learned that the titular character has a twin brother. Michael is capable of exposing people's fears, just like how Lucifer could expose desire. The former arrived on Earth, wanting to claim his brother's life in Los Angeles.

Even though Lucifer and Michael are twins, they have a lot of differences. For instance, the titular character doesn't lie, while the latter tends to say lies to get what he wants. He could manipulate people just by planting fears on their minds.

Right now, it's unclear why he suddenly showed up -- though he told Chloe (Lauren German) that he has bigger plans. His origin story remains unknown, but this is something that will be addressed when the second part of Lucifer season 5 drops on Netflix.

Michael wanted to bring Lucifer down and he's doing whatever he can to ruin his life on Earth. He slipped away from Silver City as he wanted his twin to leave Hell and go back to Los Angeles. It's interesting to see his bigger plans and how he could further shake up the story.

Also, one of the most noticeable things about Michael is that he has a hitch on his right shoulder. It gives him a unique posture, though it's something he needs to straighten when pretending as Lucifer. There's a question as to how he got this apparent injury.

Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Ildy Modrovich confirmed that viewers will find out in the second half of Lucifer season 5 why Michael has this. He added that they're going to explore pretty in depth. It looks like something more happened to him, and perhaps, his twin brother is part of it.

Meanwhile, it's yet to be seen when the remaining eight episodes will be filmed. The series wasn't able to finish the entire production due to the current health crisis. At the moment, there's no update when everyone could resume filming.

Cast and crew could go back working when the situation gets a little bit better. If ever filming starts again in the coming months, we could expect Lucifer season 5 part two arriving on either late 2020 or early 2021.
