Thandie Newton had no regrets after exposing her experience working with Tom Cruise in the movie Mission: Impossible 2. Despite the trouble she thought she would go through, it was a surprise to see the appreciation she received.

In a talk on Variety's The Big Ticket podcast, the 47-year-old seemed confident she made a right move by revealing the insecurity she felt with Cruise, Us Weekly noted.

To recall, Newton had been in the headlines for calling out the 58-year-old actor, claiming he was like a "very dominant individual." She even confessed to New York Magazine she was scared of Cruise.

Although she could not deny that he tried very hard to be a nice person, their work pressure seemed to take its toll on him. The English actress believed Cruise felt he was the only one who could do everything as perfect as it could get.

At the time, Newton alleged Katie Holmes' ex-husband got very "frustrated" of her performance in a scene so he showed her how he believed it should be correctly done. That moment made her felt she was in a "most unhelpful" situation that brought her into a "place of terror and insecurity" as an actress.

Anyhow, she cleared that Cruise was not horrible but only "really stressed." But, the situation gave her the "most extraordinary time."

Of course, Newton received a tremendous amount of support, including from Cruise's number one critic, Leah Remini. The Westworld star, alternatively, never anticipated such a strong response.

According to E! News, Newton believed she had nothing to lose so she decided to speak up. However, she admitted she had no idea how her revelation about Cruise would be perceived.

She seemed never to mind the implications her remarks would cause, knowing she was not "viable anymore." She described herself as a Black woman who came from a "conventional stereotype."

Newton was convinced that, at her age, she could not be able to get a role. She noticed a quick turnover happened when celebrities were no longer famous enough to reveal things and had people listened. She knew the public would not pay any attention if someone already popped out of their fame.

She, then, thanked the HBO series, Westworld, which she was currently part of, for helping her to remain "relevant and current." Despite the fears, she felt it was the right time for her to finally share her experiences in the business to the world.
