FBI season 3 is expected to premiere this fall on CBS. However, some things might be changed depending on the current health crisis. But, despite the uncertainties, the series has been sharing updates as to what viewers can expect, as well as who could be joining other characters this time around.
According to a report from Deadline, Katherine Renee Turner is the newest series regular entering FBI season 3. The actress will be playing the role of Tiffany Wallace, an outspoken Bed-Stuy native who spent six years with the NYPD, mostly in the narcotics division.
In addition, Wallace fell in love with being a Fed after she worked on a joint task force. Yet, she's still a bit of an outlier at 26 Fed. It will be interesting to see how her arrival could shake things up in the department. She could either jibe or clash with some of the characters.
It isn't surprising that FBI season 3 is expanding its cast a little bit. The series had a small core back in season 1, and it is slowly adding more characters moving forward. Perhaps we could see more people joining the show as the story progresses.
Meanwhile, the upcoming installment could further explore Maggie's (Missy Peregym) storyline. She was temporarily left in the previous season as her story wasn't properly wrapped up due to the production shutdown caused by the global health crisis.
At that time, Peregrym was on maternity leave and she's supposed to come back before the season 2 finale. But then the remaining episodes weren't filmed because of the pandemic. Her story could be the center of almost everything in the early run of FBI season 3.
Producers and writers are doing whatever they can behind the scenes to be flexible and accommodate some of the changes. This is a challenging time for everyone, and a lot of things should be considered first before proceeding with their plans. For now, the top priority is keeping everyone safe on the set.
Also, the upcoming installment could incorporate some stories happening in the real world – such as the global health crisis, police brutality, and social justice. Just like other shows out there, the series could include these timely topics to expand the conversation about it and deliver an important message to viewers.
FBI season 3 has no official release date as of yet, but CarterMatt noted it could arrive at some point in November.
