The US mobile phone market will have another smart option in Motorola One 5G, the company's new mid-range smartphone. The One 5G is basically a reinvented form of the Moto G 5G Plus which was first released to the European market over the summer.

The company expects the One 5G to appeal to the US market with its distinctive ring flash, along with other features similar to the G 5G plus. Motorola did not mention the exact price for their new product but assured that it will cost US consumers below $500, CNet reported.

Like the G 5G Plus, the Motorola One 5G has six cameras, with four on its back and two on its face. Of the two selfie cams, one features a 16MP f/2.0 camera while the other offers an 8MP ultra wide shooter which comes very handy when there is a need to shoot wide selfies. The four cameras on the back include the main 48MP camera, an 8MP camera for ultra-wide shots, a 5MP macro camera that comes in handy for extremely close-up shots of small subjects like insects, and a 2MP depth camera.

While there are a lot of similarities between the Motorola G 5G Plus and the One 5G, they differ in two significant ways. The new smartphone will be available in the US market with a distinct mmWave variant designed for Verizon, which offers only mmWave-based 5G phones.

Another major difference between the G 5G Plus and the Motorola One 5G is that the new phone features a ring flash wrapped around the main camera section. The smartphone still sports the main dual LED flash located beside the camera setup. The company did not mention the exact chipset used but industry experts expect the novel phone to utilize the Snapdragon 730G.

The Motorola One 5G also features a 6.7 CinemaVision LCD screen capable of FullHD+ resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a higher refresh rate of 90Hz, which makes for clearer and crisper images. The One 5G also features a heavy-duty 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging at 20W. In a GSM Arena review of the Moto G 5G Plus, the predecessor of the One 5G, the phone scored 114h in terms of overall endurance.

The company announced the US market can avail of the Motorola One 5G from Verizon and AT&T. The Verizon model comes with support for the mmWave 5G network of the carrier and may be pricier compared to other variants.

At present, the Motorola G 5G Plus costs €350, which provides some bit of insight as to how much the Moto One 5G will cost in the US. T-Mobile recently announced the availability of T-Movile Revvl 5G available to the US market at $399, currently the lowest price in the country for a 5G smartphone. Whether Verizon and AT&T will challenge the price of the Revvl 5G and offer Moto One 5G in the vicinity of that price point is unknown for now but will be revealed in the near future.
