Tom Cruise is living like his Mission: Impossible character Ethan Hunt. He's doing everything he can to finish a mission. In real life, Cruise's objective is to finish the filming of Mission: Impossible 7 with no more delays - so he spent hundreds of thousands of his own money to make it happen.

Reports said Cruise spent $700,000 to rent a 500-seat Hurtigruten ship to be used in M:I 7 production. It is unclear what the exact purpose of the boat is but many expect it will be for the safety of the cast and crew.

Over the past months, the filming of the franchise seventh installment has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. It kicked off production in Venice, Italy earlier this year. But it was forced to shut down when COVID-19 hit the country.

The filming resumed in London in July, after five months' delay as a result of the pandemic. It hit another setback last month when a motorbike burst into flames on set causing another delay in production.

A source told Daily Mail UK that Cruise is determined to finish the movie with no more delays. Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to hit theaters in November 2021.

Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast and crew of the M:I 7 are expected to move to Norway this month to film more scenes. The actor reportedly rented the ship to be used in the film.

It isn't known if the vessel will be used in a scene or to house the team while in Norway. Reports have it that the Norwegian government exempted the production crew from their quarantine rules. This means the cast and crew could start shooting without having to quarantine at home for 14 days.

However, all of them have been instructed to take two health tests 48 hours upon their arrival in Norway. The country's Minister of Culture Abid Raja also said Cruise and the rest of the M:I production team aren't allowed to have contact with anyone outside of their crew.

This will be the second time that the franchise has filmed scenes in Norway. The country provided the backdrop for the famous scene of Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - Fallout where he was seen hanging off the edge of the famous Pulpit Rock, also known as Preikestolen.
