Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations featured Rihanna's 2012 interview with America's "Queen of Talk," where she talked about her relationship with Chris Brown after their infamous split. Despite the restraining order and other legal issues, the 32-year-old singer-actress revealed she would always love her ex-boyfriend.

Rihanna revealed Brown was her "true love" and considered him the "love of her life" despite what they had been through. At the time of the talk, the Fenty owner said they were working out on their friendship, starting to be "very, very close friends" again.

According to HollywoodLife, they started to trust each other again and that was all that mattered between them then. They loved each other and probably would always do. So, there was no way that they would try to change it.

Rihanna admitted that what they used to have was something she could not "shut off," especially she was in love then. Anyhow, she cleared they hadn't romantically seen each other anymore.

Brown is now in a relationship, recently, welcoming his son with Ammika Harris. Riri, alternatively, is single. They have also maintained a "very close friendship."

To recall, Rihanna applied for a restraining order against Brown after physically assaulting her before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

USA Today reported the incident left Rihanna bloody and bruised. Photos of her battered face were also leaked to the public, showing the severity of the attack.

Brown pleaded guilty and received the sentence of serving five years' probation and 1,400 hours of community service. Another 1,000 hours community service was added in August 2014, which he had to complete before his probation officially ended on Aug. 25, 2014.

At the time the ordeal happened, they were already dating for two years. In 2011, Rihanna eventually dropped the restraining order after she had forgiven him.

Rihanna admitted she was angry for a long time, resentful, and even held a grudge. Her terrible feeling even came out in her music, clothes, and attitude.

However, she did not like what she felt and admitted it was a "heavy" thing to carry. Fortunately, they had worked out their differences "little by little." Although it was never easy, they became amicable.

Rihanna and Brown briefly rekindled their romance in 2012, but officially ended their relationship in 2013. Fans were still hoping for a reconciliation. Eight years had passed but it never happened.
