There have only been a few details leaked about NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 over the past months. The previous installment was forced to shut down due to the current health crisis. But, it seems like the cast and crew are back to work now and filming the new season.

In one of her recent posts in Instagram Stories, Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye, confirmed that she's back on the set and filming NCIS: Los Angeles season 12. However, even though production has started, the environment is completely different than before.

The actress revealed that cast and crew are wearing masks and they frequently disinfect things. Everyone needs to follow certain health guidelines and protocols to ensure their safety while working amid the pandemic. Some things may not look the same as they were before.

The current global health crisis remains one of the biggest filming challenges for NCIS: Los Angeles season 12. There is no indication as to when the upcoming installment could premiere, but it is expected to arrive a little bit later this year on CBS.

The series is the first major NCIS franchise to start production. NCIS season 18 is, reportedly, slated to begin filming this September, while NCIS: New Orleans may start up later this month. These shows could drop their new episodes sometime this year as long as there are no further interruptions along the way.

Meanwhile, NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 will address much of the events that happened in the season 11 finale once it premieres. Also, there's a possibility the upcoming installment will address some of the timely issues, including the real-life health crisis and social justice.

As for what we can expect to Kensi's storyline, we could see more of her and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). Their relationship is one of the most interesting parts of the series and it's exciting to see what else is coming for them moving forward.

Kensi and Deeks have been trying to figure out what they want for their future and whether or not they really want to have a baby. One of the biggest issues here is that both of them are dedicated to their professions and starting their own family might be challenging for them.

Even though Kensi and Deeks are happily married, they could still face some conflicts because of this particular latter. Kensi, in particular, needs to grapple with the dilemma between her professional and personal life. This is something that will be further explored in NCIS: Los Angeles season 12.
