Kanye West received mockeries and insults after he seemed to imitate Jesus by walking on water. The 43-year-old rapper held his Sunday Service in Atlanta over the Labor Day weekend, featuring Joel Osteen and his choir, who also stood on the lake.

The controversial gathering was held at Pinewood Forest in Fayetteville, Georgia. It featured the sermon of the famed televangelist Osteen, who shared the Bible story of Jesus walking on water.

A little later, West's choir gave the attendees a stunning visual of crossing the lake's surface while singing gospel music. According to Billboard, Kim Kardashian shared a glimpse of the controversial scene on her social media pages.

Celebrity Insider noted the presidential aspirant used a translucent platform to do the stunt. However, some said the father-of-four went too far for executing the Biblical walk, giving the impression that he is a "megalomaniac creature."

A fan said what West did, together with his two kids, North, 7, and Saint 4, was a "disgusting mockery" and not funny at all. He even said he could play with a lot of things, but never about Jesus.

Another complainant dared the fashion mogul to nail himself on the cross and come back six days later, like Jesus. Alternatively, some came to West's defense.

One of his followers explained there could be a church anywhere, and "God is literally everything." No one had to be in a church to feel God's presence and listen to the gospel.

Hence, he was questioning why people were so offended by the infamous walk. He admitted he was baffled and asked everyone to be just glad that West seemed to be doing much better today than a few weeks ago when he had a public meltdown.

He also described the internet as "negative" and people seemed to have "so much negativity" in their hearts today. If there's something wrong with humanity right now, he said it is hatred.

Another supporter chimed in, suggesting people should stop commenting "blasphemy." West was only trying to do what the Bible said, although "in a different light."

He also defended his Sunday Service, saying it wasn't a cult and added that the Yeezy designer was only trying to do what he believed his purpose is, "speeding the name of Jesus."

West continued his Sunday Service in Wyoming in mid-August, stressing they followed all the needed safety precautions during the continuation of their gathering amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The worship recently returned to Atlanta for a sermon at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
