BLACKPINK will be the first Kpop group to get a Netflix documentary.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Netflix will release Light Up the Sky, a film that documents footages from BLACKPINK's trainee days until their rise to the top as one of the most popular Kpop girl groups in the world.

The documentary is expected to feature the high points and low points of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose's career after they debuted in 2016.

It will, also, feature candid interviews with the members that will provide viewers with an authentic look into their struggles as they conquer the global stage. The documentary will show sold-out arena tours and end with a feature on BLACKPINK's first performance in Coachella in 2019.

According to Netflix exec Adam del Deo, they chose BLACKPINK as the subject of the documentary because they have become one of the most recognizable and successful girl groups in the world. The documentary was directed by Caroline Suh, who previously directed Salt Fat Acid Heat.

BLACKPINK members expressed excitement to be featured in the Netflix documentary. They said that they were happy to have an avenue to share their personal stories with BLINKs all over the world. They added that they hope that their journey will make the viewers happy.
