Power Book II: Ghost episode 2 is coming this weekend on Starz, with the title "Exceeding Expectation." The premiere sets the stage for what's coming next for Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.). Now, we're going to see him still finding ways to get his mother, Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton), out of jail.
In Power Book II: Ghost episode 2, Tariq is being haunted by the legacy of his father, James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick). He will try to understand who his father really was and who he was to the people in his life. This could be the reference for the title in this week's episode.
Tariq's life is completely different now. He killed his father, but his mother took the fall in order to protect him and his future. He is determined to get Tasha out of prison, but he recognized that it's not easy at all. He needs the help of other people, even if it comes with huge consequences.
But, although Tariq was responsible for the death of Ghost, he still learned something from him. What Tariq did to Ghost could have a long-term impact on him. He'll be haunted by everything and this could lead to some complications moving forward.
Meanwhile, the promo of Power Book II: Ghost episode 2 showed Tasha in the most terrible position yet. She was close to being free in the premiere. But then, she was caught in the middle of a new crisis after being targeted for a big legal case.
Saxe (Shane Johnson) claimed that Tasha is a "queenpin," as he wanted to make sure someone else will take the fall for Ghost's crimes and save the Democratic Party. It doesn't matter whether or not Tasha is innocent -- they just wanted someone to take the fall.
This is another problem for Tariq, and this will lead him to work with Monet (Mary J. Blige) and the entire Tejada family to make sure he could free his mother. He is willing to do everything to get $450,000 and secure the representation from Davis MacLean (Method Man).
An aside from getting the money, Tariq needs to find evidence of what Ghost did while he was still alive to prove that Tasha is innocent. He'll try to find ways to prove to everyone that his mother wasn't entirely involved with his father's wrongdoings.
