Power Book II: Ghost episode 1 is coming this weekend on Starz, with the title "The Stranger." The series will follow an entirely different story. It will focus on Tariq St. Patrick's (Michael Rainey Jr.) life and the events that happened in the flagship show, Power.

Power Book II: Ghost episode 1 picks up everything that transpired in Power series finale. Tariq would be the center of the story as he deals with different problems. He needs to balance his student life and try to clear his mother's name, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), for the crime he actually committed.

Tariq wrestles with the ghosts of his past. He is the one responsible for killing his father, Ghost (Omari Hardwick). He has to contend with the emotional aftermath since all the things that happened in the flagship show were so sudden and unexpected.

In the synopsis of Power Book II: Ghost episode 1, Tariq starts his new life at Stansfield University. However, he found himself torn between two worlds: living a life as a normal college kid, like what his mother said; or doing what she taught him to save what was left for his family.

Tariq lives on his own for the first time and he feels that there's a better way on how to move forward. However, he recognized that he can't do it all by himself. He reached out to allies, old and new, to help him prove Tasha's innocence in the murder of Ghost and freeing their family from his shadow.

The premiere episode will be an eventful one. It would slowly buildup what was stored in the entire run of the spin-off. We're going to see Tariq doing whatever he can to clear his mother's name and covering up the murder he committed at the same time.

Meanwhile, speaking to Digital Spy, Rainey said that Tariq is smart that people think he is. He's got his father's mentality; doing whatever he can in order to save his family. They are his major motivation that's why he's doing what he's doing now.

He is willing to sell drugs to make sure his family is good at the end of the day. Even if the situation is hard, he's still going to do it for the people he loves. However, his actions lead him to some dangerous places and meeting friends and foe along the way.

Power Book II: Ghost episode 1 airs on Sunday, Sept. 6, on Starz.
