Michelle Obama shared rare details about her marriage to Barack Obama. She spoke about the "tough times" that they experienced in their almost 28 years of marriage.

Speaking on her new show called The Michelle Obama podcast, the former First Lady discussed "relationships" and marriages with her guest, Conan O'Brien, according to the Daily Express. She did not hold back and responded to the celebrity host's questions about her union with the former U.S. President.

The Becoming author "openly acknowledged" the challenges that she had in her marriage. She revealed that there were times when she wanted to push her husband "out of the window."

Despite all the trials that Barack and Michelle Obama faced, and have continued to experience, they do not think of quitting. She noted that they do not talk about it.

The former First Lady added that many young couples today easily give up when challenges arise. She added that this usually happens because they think that they are "broken."

She, then, argued that if these things, indeed, break a marriage, then she and her husband would have an on and off relationship. But, Michelle countered that they have a "strong" marriage.

Following her revelations, Michelle Obama told O'Brien that she always knew that she would marry Barack Obama. She, also, made comparisons between choosing a husband or wife and selecting basketball teams.

She said that in a marriage, one would always want to be teammates with a winner. Michelle, later on, added that she chose her own "version of LeBron."

The following day, the former First Lady elaborated her thoughts on social media, according to the Daily Mail. She posted another set of tips and advice about marriage, noting that it "takes a lot of work."

She, also, pointed out that "honesty" is a must in a relationship. Aside from one's partners, one should be honest, as well, with themselves.

Michelle Obama and Barack Obama tied the knot in 1992. They will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary next month.

Hello! magazine recently reported that the former U.S. President's wife posted a "throwback" photo of their wedding days after the interview with Conan O'Brien. She captioned it with a lengthy note, expanding her thoughts about her relationship with her husband and their kids.

Aside from sharing some of her learnings from her marriage, she asked her followers to share theirs on the comment section of the post. The photo has since received over 2.2 million likes and thousands of comments. Many of her fans, also, took their time to share some stories about their lives and relationships.
