Magnum P.I. season 3 is set to start production later this September and it is expected to premiere in the fall. There are only a few details about what to expect, but we're going to see some Hawaii Five-0 characters in the upcoming installment.

In a recent Twitter post, the official writers' room account of the series confirmed that there'll be some sort of Hawaii Five-0 presence in Magnum P.I. season 3. The post, however, didn't mention any names. But, some have been speculating who could potentially appear from the now-concluded series.

CarterMatt noted that some of the characters set to appear are Kamekona (Taylor Wily), Duke (Dennis Chun), and Noelani (Kimee Balmilero). Since these three are local actors, it would be easy and accessible for them to film. They won't be required to travel amid the current global health crisis.

In addition, some speculated that Katrina Law's character, Quinn Liu, might be appearing in Magnum P.I. season 3. In previous crossovers, the chemistry between her and Rick (Peter Greene) has been teased. Yet, the major challenge here is finding a way to get her back in the story.

If the situation is right, Rick could try to make a move and make something happen. However, Quinn is not a series regular, so it would be hard to create something between them unless Law's character sticks around and become permanent on the show.

But, since both shows exist in the same universe, it only makes sense that some faces from Hawaii Five-0 show up in Magnum P.I. season 3. Aside from that, fans could see other guest stars appearing in the upcoming installment, with some hoping a MacGyver crossover.

Yet, the major challenge here is that the two series were being filmed in different locations. It would be challenging for the cast members to constantly travel in the middle of the pandemic. After all, the priority of everyone right now is health and safety.

Meanwhile, even though filming hasn't kicked off yet, the series might be premiering in November. The plan is to shoot six episodes for the new season before officially releasing it on CBS. That means the production needs about two months to finish everything up.

Also, Magnum P.I. season 3 won't be any Holiday episodes this time around. This news has been previously confirmed on Twitter, noting that no special episodes will be released due to the real-life health crisis. It would be challenging to deliver stories with seasonal themes.
