The Simpsons season 32 is coming later this month on Fox. The release dates of most TV series and shows have been delayed due to the current global health crisis. But the good news is that the animated comedy series was able to follow its usual premiere window despite the pandemic.
The Simpsons season 32 kicks off with an episode titled "Undercover Burns." It seems like the premiere will focus on a story mostly revolving around Burns. He will be having a change in personality, but it remains to be seen whether or now he can keep it going.
Based on the synopsis, Mr. Burns will go undercover as Fred at the nuclear power plant. Because of his sudden changes, he managed to become friends with Homer and the gang. In addition, he implemented all sorts of amenities to improve the lives of his employees.
Many are probably shocked and confused since the character is acting generous and caring. But, not everyone is on board with what he really wants and what he is doing. The biggest problem here is that a jealous Smithers is planning to bring back the old and bitter Burns to destroy Fred.
As for what else is coming beyond the premiere, viewers can expect several guest stars appearing in The Simpsons season 32. It has been confirmed that Hannibal Burress, Olivia Colman, David Harbour, Phil Rosenthal, and Ben Platt are all appearing in the upcoming installment.
The news was first revealed during the official Comic-Con panel for the animated comedy series. There aren't too many spoilers as to what else viewers can expect, but this is enough to hype up the new season. More guest stars might be announced in the coming weeks or months.
Meanwhile, as mentioned, the upcoming installment remains strong despite the current real-life health crisis. The series managed to follow its fall schedule even though there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the world right now. The good thing is that it is a show that can be done remotely.
CarterMatt noted the new season will be valuable than ever for Fox this coming fall due to the limited programming elsewhere. The future of other shows are still hanging up in the at the moment. So, it would be nice for the network to have the animated comedy series airing in the months to come.
The Simpsons season 32 premieres on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8:00-8:31 PM ET/PT, on Fox.
