Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living in the U.S. after they officially withdrew from their senior royal roles at the end of March. Even though the couple initially wanted to split their time between the U.S. and the U.K., it seems like their recent move is suggesting that they will not go back to Britain anytime soon.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just purchased their first home together in the city of Santa Barbara, California. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle secretly moved to their multimillion-dollar property last month, according to their spokesperson. A source shared that the couple was planning to stay there long term as they live “as normal a life there as possible.”

“They have thought about this carefully and have researched it very well. This is the place where they plan to be happy, make good friends, and bring up Archie, giving him the chance to play with other children his age,” the insider shared.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly agreed to pay 32,000 pounds ($43,000) a month in mortgage for the next 30 years. This is, reportedly, enough proof to confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to live in Montecito is not temporary.

The couple's 11.2 million pounds ($14.7 million) home boasts nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a rose garden, a tennis court, and more. Montecito is described by an estate agent as “a paradise for Hollywood stars and the super-rich who want to live in splendid isolation.”

Meanwhile, a royal expert previously said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix deal will make it impossible for them to return to the U.K. Duncan Larcombe noted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's contract is the "biggest development" in their process to sever ties with the Royal Family.

The royal expert said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally got the financial independence they wanted and everything that they were aiming for when they left the U.K.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, then, paid back the 2.4 million pounds used to renovate Frogmore Cottage. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex promised to reimburse the costs spent during the refurbishing when they stayed there, and a spokesperson for the couple recently confirmed the payment.

According to a source, the payment was made possible thanks to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lucrative deal with Netflix. While there was no confirmation regarding the money that they would get from their new venture, it is speculated that the couple could earn more than 190 million pounds ($250 million).
