A lot of shows out there are going in a different direction to address the current global health crisis. Their top priority is to tell stories about the pandemic, which is a timely topic. However, it looks like SEAL Team season 4 won't be delivering episodes focusing on the real-life health crisis.

In a new interview with TVLine, showrunner Spencer Hudnut discussed their plans for the upcoming SEAL Team season 4. He explained that they wanted to finish where they started and it felt wrong to suddenly jump into pandemic-theme stories.

Hudnut added that they want to give people an escape, as well. He explained that the audience will recognize some themes the series has to deal with in the past few months. The show has already featured real-world issues and they don't want to add another topical stuff to the list.

In addition, SEAL Team season 4 picks up the final two episodes left in season 3. The story continues with Jason (David Boreanaz), Ray (Neil Brown), and others on the hunt for HVT Asim al-Hazred. It's already in the middle of a story so interrupting it with a new plot is seemingly odd.

Meanwhile, another thing the production is affected by the current global health crisis is in the area of guest stars. There are several safety guidelines and protocols implemented to minimize coming and going actors on set, particularly the new one.

Hudnut said that this specific matter is something they have to talk about and address. He explained that they can't just ask people to start working immediately. A lot of factors should be considered first to ensure the safety of everyone while working amidst the pandemic.

As for what other stories we can expect, SEAL Team season 4 could explore more of Jason and Mandy's (Jessica Pare) relationship. The two crossed the line from friendship to intimacy at the end of the third installment, hinting a potential romance down the road.

Sonny (A.J. Buckley) could be the focus of the new season, as well. He wanted to leave the team and go back to Texas, but his father talked to him. Now, he could look forward to other good things when the team comes back from deployment.

But, aside from personal storylines, it's nice to see things remain as they are with the team. The show is all about the Bravo Team working together and being there for each other through ups and downs. While some things change, it's interesting to see them work together for a long time.

SEAL Team season 4 is slated to premiere in November.
