SEAL Team season 4 hasn't started filming as of yet due to the current global health crisis. But, there are plans for the CBS series to begin production anytime soon. It looks like cast and crew are inching closer to getting back to work.

Recently, Deadline reported that the remaining CBS TV Studios series received a green light to return production, which includes SEAL Team season 4. Prior to this announcement, star David Boreanaz and others have been scouting locations and preparing for new episodes.

In his previous Instagram Stories, Boreanaz confirmed that location scouting is underway from the fourth installment, possibly the one he's directing. The actor was set to work as a director in one of the episodes of the third installment before the production shutdown.

For now, there is no specific date when filming could officially kick off. But, it is expected to happen either in late September or in early October. If this will be followed, the November premiere date is possible. It can be part of the line-up that includes The Amazing Race and SWAT.

Meanwhile, one of the biggest questions entering SEAL Team season 4 is whether or not it will deliver stories about the real-life events. The writers often take on timely topics so it's interesting to see how the global health crisis and social justice will be included in the narrative.

Aside from that, the fourth installment needs to wrap up the remaining stories left in season 3. These episodes were supposedly set to air in the spring, but the schedule wasn't followed due to the pandemic. The stories here will be incorporated in the early run of the new season.

As for what other stories we can expect, SEAL Team season 4 could explore Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) and Mandy Ellis' (Jessica Pare) relationship. The season 3 finale delivered an unexpected twist, wherein the former kissed the latter. This sparks speculations that a romantic bond is building up moving forward.

The third installment saw Jason escorting Mandy into town as she paid condolence to the widow of a local vendor who served as an informant. In an interview with TVLine, Boreanaz teased that people will be surprised what will happen to the two in the next installment.

The actor explained that Jason decided to accompany Mandy because he wanted to take care of what he needed to take care of. It's clear that there's a plan for these two, and their relationship will evolve at some point in the new season.

There have been previous hints that Jason and Mandy are somehow involved in the past, though it's unclear what happened between them. But, Boreanaz noted the two have a strong connection and they truly understand each other. This is something that will be further addressed in SEAL Team season 4.
