Queen Elizabeth publicly showed her support for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Following their "bombshell" announcement in January, as well as the "talks" that came after, she released an official statement about the shocking move of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Aside from openly supporting the couple, the senior royals placed the so-called "Megxit deal" into a 12-month review. However, the British Monarch may change or even renew the deal before its expiration in March 2021, according to the Daily Express.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams stated that the Sussex couple is a "unique case." He explained that they are non-working royals, who received a unique arrangement with the Queen.

Sources previously pointed out that Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the British Royal Family want the "best" for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Through the 12-month review, the public has since recognized that this is "uncharted territory."

Another insider shared back then that the review of the Megxit deal is likely a "pragmatic" conversation regarding what would and would not work for both parties. So, before the expiration of the review on March 31, the royal officials, including the British Monarch, may either put alterations or even renew the deal. Besides, a lot may happen in the next six months as this is only a "trial run," according to Cheat Sheet.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their desire to step down as senior royals upon their return from their six-week break. Aside from making it known that they wanted to live a "financially independent" life, they shared their plans in continuing to represent Queen Elizabeth and the Crown.

However, the Queen and the rest of the senior royals did not seemingly agree with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's strategies. They ended up relinquishing their royal titles while retaining them in full. Despite this, though, the Sussex couple received the blessing to pursue other profitable ventures outside the British Monarchy and the United Kingdom.

Following all the agreements, Queen Elizabeth placed the deal, as well as the Sussex couple under a 12-month review. Sources said at that time that this is to ensure that the deal would work for everyone, adding that it would become the "transition period" for the British Royals.

Reports, later on, said that many have perceived the "review" as a tactic for the British Monarch. Sources explained that this is likely a way for her to keep the doors open should the Sussex couple regret their move and decide to come back.

But, based on their recent movements, many royal experts have started to conclude that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may no longer return to their royal posts come to the end of their deal.
