Royal experts claimed that Queen Elizabeth will never forgive Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Despite being married to the Prince of Wales for 15 years now, the British Monarch has never, truly, accepted her daughter-in-law.
For many years, many have continued to wonder what the Queen thinks of the now-Duchess, according to Cheat Sheet. In his book, Rebel Prince: The Power and Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, Tom Bower revealed that tension has remained apparent between the British Monarch and the Duchess of Cornwall. She even described her son's second wife as "wicked."
The royal biographer added that Queen Elizabeth was "angry." Aside from stating that she wanted "nothing to do" with Camilla, she told Prince Charles that she would never forgive her in 1998.
While things between the two women have appeared "soft" in recent years, reports said that it is not "far-fetched" to conclude that the Queen's anger never went away. Some even added this conclusion may have further strengthened its stance as they never appeared particularly close with each other.
A former royal bodyguard to Princess Diana, also, had similar assertions about Queen Elizabeth's true feelings toward Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Speaking to the documentary, Diana: The Woman Inside, Ken Wharfe said that the Queen would never "condone" her son's adultery, nor forgive her son's second wife.
He continued that the British Monarch would not do it considering that Parker-Bowles never gave the Wales couple a "chance" to address their issues. Reports recalled that the late Princess Diana still wanted to work things out between her and Prince Charles even after learning about the affair. However, the then-married Camilla did not let it happen as "she never went away."
Queen Elizabeth knew about the affair of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles because of Princess Diana, according to The Independent. While it remains undisclosed when was the exact time she learned about it, the late Princess of Wales previously revealed that she talked to the Queen and asked for her help.
In her secret recordings sent to Andrew Morton, the late Princess shared how she sought her mother-in-law's advice on the matter. She said that she was sobbing as she went to the "top lady," asking what to do.
Prince Charles' mother, reportedly, responded with a simple "I don't know." She added, though, that her son is "hopeless." But, aside from these responses, Princess Diana never received anything from Queen Elizabeth to help her with the affair.
