Kelly Clarkson is not having bright days since she announced her split from husband Brandon Blackstock in June. Though she has been busy over the past weeks because of several shows, the singer still feels gloomy. Fortunately, there are songs that she find comforting during these challenging times.

The American Idol winner invited her close friend and fellow Voice judge, John Legend, to the opening episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show Season 2. During the show, Clarkson can't help but gush about Legend's new album, Bigger Love.

She revealed that John's new songs are her favorites at the moment. The "Because of You" hitmaker said she finds "Wild," "Favorite Place," "Ooh Laa," and "Conversations in the Dark" soothing amidst her divorce.

Legend, however, told Clarkson that those are sexy songs. The Emmy winner agreed and said this only shows Legend's new album is really good. Kelly said for someone like her, who just separated from her husband, finding comfort in sexy songs proved that the Bigger Love album must be really good.

Legend thanked Clarkson for complimenting his work. The "All of Me" crooner said it means a lot for him that a fellow artist likes his music. Legend also performed "Wild" which is the lead track of his new album.

Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson has been very candid about her divorce and the struggles that come with it. In her recent interview with Willie Geist on Sunday TODAY, she admitted that she has been in a "little bit of a dumpster" lately because of things that had happened over the past months.

The 38-year-old pop star filed for divorce in June, ending her seven-year marriage to music manager Brandon Blackstock. The ex-couple has two children together, namely: River Rose, 5, and Remington Alexander, 3.

Kelly said 2020 has been a rough year for many. It was harder for her because of her divorce. The "Since U Been Gone" singer said fortunately she has something where she can vent out her emotions and that is music.

Aside from finding comfort from songs of fellow singers, Clarkson is also pouring her emotions into her upcoming album. The "Piece by Piece" songstress said her next LP could be the most personal one that she has ever made.

Clarkson teased that the entire album contains all the emotions she had felt from the beginning of her relationship with Blackstock until where she is right now. The album is expected to hit music stores next year.
