The Walking Dead season 10 finale is coming this weekend on AMC, with the title "A Certain Doom." The episode wasn't released earlier this year as production was shut down due to the global health crisis. Now, the long wait is over and the battle between the Survivors and Whisperers is coming.
Everyone is in danger in The Walking Dead season 10 finale. The epic showdown between the two groups would be intense, violent, and bloody. The Survivors face the threat brought by the Whisperers. Even though Alpha (Samantha Morton) is gone now, Beta (Ryan Hurst) is still there seeking revenge.
In a report from TVLine, showrunner Angela Kang promised that the long-awaited episode is going to be worth it. It would be an epic clash between the Survivors and Whisperers. These two groups have been in a cold war throughout the season, now it's going to be a full-on fight to "possibly mutual destruction."
The biggest concern in The Walking Dead season 10 finale is that one of the characters may die before the episode ends. It can be recalled that Beta and his horde descended on the heroes' hideout. No one is safe and most lives are in jeopardy.
Kang explained that they wanted to show how massive a disadvantage the Survivors are at. The horde is bigger than what they've encountered in the past. The showrunner further teased that the showdown is like a "David-and-Goliath battle."
The good thing is that the group has its own secret weapon. Lauren Cohan's Maggie is appearing in this episode after being gone in the series for about six years. Kang hinted that Maggie will have an important role moving forward in the series.
She'll learn some of the things about what's happening. Maggie will do her best to help her friends, who are in trouble. Kang added that the character has her own story and it is something that will be explored down the road. Also, there's a sort of thing that she has to deal with immediately.
Meanwhile, six more episodes are coming next year beyond the original The Walking Dead season 10 finale. These episodes are still part of the current installment, which means that we're getting two separate endings this time around.
The Walking Dead season 10 finale will be airing on Sunday, Oct. 4, on AMC. The episode will be released early on the network's premium service, AMC+. Viewers can expect it arriving on Thursday, Oct. 1, followed by the premiere of the spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
