EXO's Chanyeol could be working on a solo album.

According to a report by All Kpop, the EXO member recently posted an Instagram story showing that he is in a studio while recording music.

EXO-Ls think that like other EXO members, Chanyeol is getting ready to release solo music.

It can be recalled that Chanyeol recently admitted that he is interested in releasing a solo album. During the Q and A portion of a radio guesting, a fan asked him if he wanted to debut as a solo artist.

Chanyeol did not mince words and acknowledged that he wants to see it happen too. He went even further by asking fans to trend it so SM Entertianment will allow him to work on an album, All Kpop reported.

With his recent post, fans believe that the label finally saw Chanyeol's potential to go solo and allowed him to work on new music.

According to a fan, the initials LOEY, which was indicated on Chanyeol's post, could be the title of his album. The fan described the potential album as a cultural reset, an early Christmas present, and a reason to breathe amid the challenges of 2020. The fan also likened the album to a hug from a loved one.

It is not impossible for SM Entertainment to work on something for the EXO member since he is one of the artists who is scheduled to sign up for military enlistment in 2021, Channel Korea reported.

Traditionally, EXO members release solo materials as a gift to fans before going on hiatus due to mandatory service.

Last year, Xiumin released the ballad "You" as part of SM Station Season 3. He enlisted in May 2019 and is expected to be discharged on December this year.

EXO's D.O. similarly released a solo track entitled "That's Okay" as a parting gift to fans before he enlisted on July 2019. He is expected to complete his service by January 2021.

EXO's Suho was able to debut as a solo artist through the album Self Portrait. The album was released last March, two months before Suho enlisted.

Next year, three more members of EXO are expected to report for mandatory duty. Among them are Baekhyun, Chen, and Chanyeol.

In April, Chen welcomed his daughter after getting married to his girlfriend. He was, recently, featured in the OST of the drama Do You Like Brahms? Meanwhile, Baekhyun's massively successful comeback album Delight surpassed one million albums sold.
