There is hope that BTS members can delay their military enlistment and serve together in 2025.

According to All Kpop, some politicians are reportedly looking into delaying all the members' military enlistment for five more years so that they can enlist at the same time as their youngest member Jungkook.

The BTS' members' enlistment has become a hot topic since last year because based on current guidelines, Jin would have to enlist to the military by December 2020.

If Jin enters the military at the end of the year, it would take at least seven years before all members complete their mandatory enlistment and promote together as a complete unit.

However, if BTS members are allowed to enter the military at the same time in 2025, this would shorten the period of hiatus until the seven members take the stage together again.

Military hiatus is a common problem among Kpop groups since members do not enlist at the same time. This means that labels are forced to create subunits within the groups so that the remaining members could continue promoting while others are enlisted.

It can be recalled that BIGBANG's Taeyang once said in an interview that the members were considering enlisting at the same time since they only had a small age gap between them. However, the youngest member Seungri, at the time, had several years left before he was due to enlist. The plan did not push through.

Super Junior, one of the biggest Kpop groups in history, with 13 original members,  also had to wait a total of nine years before all of the members completed their mandatory service.

It can be recalled that recently, Rep. Jeon Yong Ki of the Democratic Party of Korea proposed the revision of the military service law to allow the delay in the enlistment of individuals who made outstanding contributions in the field of pop culture, arts, and e-sports.

Fans became hopeful that the government would recognize the different international accolades that BTS received to boost the image and culture of South Korea in the field of world entertainment.

For their part, officials of the Ministry of National Defense stated that they want to see the discussion of the related bills introduced to the National Assembly before they provide their opinion on the matter.
