BTS delivered a touching perspective on the COVID-19 pandemic during an appearance before the 75th United Nations General Assembly.

According to a report by Billboard, BTS made a speech before the assembly which brought into context the experiences of the people while the world was paralyzed by the global health pandemic.

The speech of BTS members was filmed individually and touched on different points of view. After being introduced by UNICEF executive director Henrietta Fore, BTS leader RM kicked off the speech by saying how unbelievable the impact of COVID-19 was.

He talked about having to cancel their world tour and the isolation that the pandemic brought. He said he looked up but could not see the stars at night, alluding to his loss of hope.

While there were plenty of challenges, the group acknowledged that there were some positive outcomes brought by the pandemic. They said that they were able to get unwanted but welcome precious time to collaborate on new songs to express the emotions they felt.

J-Hope said that the pandemic also brought them closer together as friends and as artists. As they embraced their feelings, the members began to create music that was more honest and true.

RM also shared a message of hope to the people who are reeling from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and encouraged them to always love themselves. He said that, in order to get through the dark times, people must love themselves as they imagine the future. He vowed that BTS will remain on their side.

He recalled his earlier statement and said that, when the night is darkest is when the stars shine the brightest. And even though the stars are sometimes hidden, the moonlight is still present to serve as a guide. He rallied the attendees of the UN General Assembly by saying that even though everyone is tired, there is always room to dream again because life goes on and people should live on.

It can be recalled that, before the release of BTS' latest comeback "Dynamite," the members said that they wanted to release the song as soon as possible to share positivity to the fans who are suffering from the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The song, which was BTS' first English language single, sought to bring joy to fans all over the world with its upbeat sound and melody. It climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100s, the first time the milestone was reached by any Korean artist, EW reported.
