Fans will once again see the cute tandem of Hana Uzaki and Shinichi Sakurai in Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2. The new manga series nabs a second season renewal after the recent conclusion of Season 1.
After the Season 1 finale aired on Sept. 25, it was quickly followed by an announcement about the anime's return. In fact, according to HITC, the second installment is now in production.
The anime's official Twitter account announced the coming of a second season, along with a brand new key visual. However, it didn't reveal further details about the second season, like the release date and plotline.
The manga series creator, Take, also shared the news on his Twitter account by posting an article about Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2. His post also came with a new illustration of Hana and Shinichi.
Comicbook reported that, although the first season of Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out wasn't the most popular anime of the Summer 2020 season, it opened up many conversations among fans, thanks to its lead character, Hana. When the anime first hit the TV screens, it sparked criticisms from different artists over Hana's looks.
Many fans tried to alter, fix, and create their own take of Hana's appearance. Despite the negative review, it couldn't be denied that the first season was a success, given that it received a green light to continue.
So, the series renewal didn't come as a surprise. Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out is popular among fans, not just in Japan but all over the world.
It received a 6.9/10 rating from IMDb and 7.12/10 from MyAnimeList. Also, its manga version is currently on-going.
But, when Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2 will hit the small screens? The first season was announced in February 2020 and premiered in early-July.
If the second season has a similar production date, which is about five months, fans may see Hana and Shinichi's return in March 2021.
However, there is a big chance that the anime may catch up with the manga, which only has five volumes so far. Although Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2 may have enough material and original storyline to push through, the production may take a little while before it can go ahead.
