The Aftermarket Collection Event of "Apex Legends" is fast approaching, making the game's Season 6 a lot more exciting, but it seems that Respawn Entertainment is also planning to introduce another feature in the game aside from the upcoming cross-play that's about to release on October 6.

Respawn Entertainment Design Director Jason McCord recently shared on Twitter that the team is looking to introduce an in-game damage meter for "Apex Legends." The executive's statement came up after a player asked if it was something that the gaming studio would consider. The said player tweeted that it was disappointing when a match was over only to discover that he was 25 damage away from unlocking the badge for dealing with 4,000 damage.

Based on McCord's response, the upcoming active meter would enable players to monitor how much damage they have received through the match instead of waiting for the results screen after the match has ended. The feature could also be useful in assisting players who are curious about how much health their opponents have. Unfortunately, Respawn Entertainment's game designer only confirmed that the feature is on the list but did not say when it is arriving.

Not all fans are happy about this new feature, however. One "Apex Legends" player said that it would just make the badges way easier for "not so good people to get them." the player added that the said feature would only make others play the game in a much safer manner. Interestingly, most fans have responded to the tweet more positively, looking forward to the new system's arrival in the game.

Unlike other gaming studios, Respawn Entertainment has become transparent regarding what it is currently working on, even what it hopes for "Apex Legends." Meanwhile, the update scheduled to arrive on October 6 will include an all-new Flashpoint LTM. Aside from that, there will be a range of event-limited cosmetics as well as free rewards for playing the game.

Since the launch of "Apex Legends," players have been requesting for the functionality. The much-awaited feature will be available in the game's beta starting in just a few days. The new cross-play functionality will allow "Apex Legends" players across PC, PS4, and Xbox One to battle or buddy up against one another.

Players can look for usernames and send friend requests through the in-game friends' list of "Apex Legends." the receiving party receives a lobby notification that they can accept, block, or reject.
