Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, will have the newest addition to the royal family in early 2021. The baby will be Queen Elizabeth's ninth great-grandchild after Archie, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son, who is now 17 months old.

A new report cited that the coming York baby will likely have a special connection with Prince Louis, the youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The two-year-old toddler has quite an unusual name for a member of the British royal family but Princess Eugenie might also decide to take "Louis" as her baby's name.

According to Daily Express, no other member of the modern royal family picked Louis as their child's first name since it's mostly associated with French royalty. However, Louis is still a family name as Prince Philip's uncle and Prince Charles's confidante was Lord Louis Mountbatten.

For 2020, the name Louis is the 53rd most popular boys' name based on the Office for National Statistics. A variation of Louis, spelled as Louie, is also quite popular for parents expecting babies this year.

But, if Princess Eugenie will pass on Louis, Louie, or the female iteration, Louise, royal fans think that the baby will be named Arthur. This very regal name has been a favorite for decades and both the heirs to the throne, Charles and William, use Arthur as their middle name.

It's also highly possible for Princess Eugenie to name her baby after her father, Prince Andrew, if it's a boy, or Elizabeth, for the Queen, if it's a girl. Most female members of the royal family have Elizabeth as their second or third name so it is pretty popular with the royals.

Punters at Betfair, however, think that Arthur will be the number one pick of the Brooksbank couple. While Elizabeth is a special name, most punters have bets on the name Alice if the Brooksbank baby is a girl. Other popular choices include Henry, Thomas, Albert, Victoria, Celia, Augusta and Diana.

Princess Eugenie and Jack have not announced the gender of their baby. They have also not released any details about their birth plans as it will likely be a very private affair since the York royal is not a working member of the family. Regardless of the baby's gender, the will become the 11th in line to the British throne, pushing down Prince Edward and his family in the succession.
