Melania Trump shortly began her quarantine after announcing her and Donald Trump's COVID-19 infection on Friday. As she continues to observe isolation inside the White House, she expressed her "wishes" on social media about Secretary Ben Carson's visit at the Colorado Christian University.
She said that she would have joined the secretary on his trip on Wednesday, "as planned." But, due to her health condition, she had to remain in quarantine. Nevertheless, she shared how glad she is to see the "incredible work" of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in their Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) initiative.
After sharing her thoughts, Melania Trump received a wave of mockery on social media. Many netizens called her out and even criticized her for the post.
While I wish I could have joined @SecretaryCarson today as planned, I’m glad to see the incredible work @HUDgov is doing with #FYI to make sure our foster youth have a safe place to call home #BeBest https://t.co/d49HVSTsfQ — Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) October 6, 2020
"He infected you with Rona, he cheated on you with lots of women and probably even a woman named Rona, and he's broke af. Girl, what the f*** are you still doing there?," one Twitter user sarcastically asked. "She's there for the MONEY...what she always wanted!!," a critic responded.
"Start packing while you are quarantined, you will be moving in January," one Chip Thurston said. "You'd have made no difference by going anyways," another added.
Despite all the criticisms, Melania Trump's supporters and followers still flooded the comment section of her post, sharing their concern and care for the First Lady. Several individuals wished her well amid her isolation following her coronavirus infection.
"God Bless You Melania We all are praying for you and WE LOVE YOU," a user with the handle, "Master B for MAGA," said. "I wish you could've too. I hope you're feeling better and get well soon," another supporter replied.
Some of her followers, also, thanked and praised her for her efforts. "Foster kids MUST be given a SAFE living environment. These are kids who are already facing bigger emotional challenges than most adults will ever deal with. Thank you for protecting them. All kids should be/feel safe, cared for and loved," one user posted. "Love You (Melania) and you're (sic) commitment to American Patriotism. (Donald Trump) and yourself have done a phenomenal job," a Twitter user named Paul noted.
Since the launch of the Foster Youth to Independence Initiative, 844 young adults across 31 states, including 36 young people right here in Colorado, have been given a housing voucher so they can secure a home of their own.https://t.co/hNkIlKJT1o pic.twitter.com/KH4QOiftIs — Ben Carson (@SecretaryCarson) October 6, 2020
