VIXX's Ravi topped the list of Kpop idols with the most copyrighted songs.
According to a report by All Kpop, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA) recently released an updated list for October 2020. Based on the list, Ravi has a total of 183 songs credited under his name. BIGBANG's G-Dragon is not far behind with 174 total songs.
"Gangnam Style" singer and composer PSY has 170 songs credited under his name. BTS' rap line is also among the top performers n the list. RM took the fourth position with 162 songs while Suga is at 9th place with 116 songs. J-Hope is at a12th place with 105 songs.
HIGHLIGHT's Jun Hyung landed in fifth place with 156 copyrighted songs while Zico wrote 151 songs before his enlistment for mandatory service B.A.P's Yonnguk was responsible for crafting 127 songs while MONSTA X's Jooheon proved his mettle in songwriting with 118 songs. CNBLUE's Yonghwa also made it to the Top 10 of the list of Most Copyrighted Kpop Idols.
The list was mostly dominated by male idols but many talented female artists cracked the list. Among them are Kpop icon BoA, MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, IU, Exy of WSJN, Lee Hyori, and Ye Eun of WONDER GIRLS.
It was interesting to note that the list was made up of idols from mixed generations of Kpop. SEVENTEEN's Woozi, MONSTA X's IM, and WINNER's Song MINO were some of the third generation idols who trailed their seniors closely in the list. Fourth-gen idols from ATEEZ, Stray Kids, and AB6IX made it to the Top 100.
Kpop artists are groomed to excel in multiple facets of entertainment. Apart from singing and dancing, they are encouraged to write and produce songs and get involved in the choreography of their performances. Among the most popular Kpop songwriters include Zico, who started his label KoZ Entertainment last year to produce a string of recent hits and successful collaborations with other artists, Soompi reported.
Singer and actress IU is also responsible for writing most of her hit songs while B14A's Jinyoung wrote hits like "A Lie," "Sweet Girl," and "Solo Day." The late Jonghyun of SHINEE was also a talented songwriter before he passed away in 2017. He wrote beautiful, heartfelt songs like "Juliette," "View," and "She Is."
Soloist Lee Hi has written several hits, and AKMU's Lee Chan Hyuk wrote all of the songs in all of AKDONG Musician's albums.
