Legends of Tomorrow season 6 is not premiering until next year on The CW. There are only a few details about the upcoming installment right now. While there are speculations that Wentworth Miller is coming back, there's no official confirmation he's joining the rest in the next chapter.

Yet, it looks like one of the series stars is happy to have Miller -- who played Leonard Snart/Captain Cold -- back in Legends of Tomorrow season 6. In his recent Instagram post, Dominic Purcell shared that he would love his former Prison Break co-star to return in the "later half" of the next installment.

Purcell, who plays Mick Rory/Heat Wave, revealed that he's already spoken to Miller about the possibility of his appearance in the series. Both of them were mainstays during the first season, but Captain Cold's Earth-1 version was eventually killed off.

The question now is: how could Snart return in Legends of Tomorrow season 6? CarterMatt noted it could have a lot to do with what happened during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Because of what transpired at the end of the epic event, there's a possibility that another version of him is alive.

In Crisis on Earth-X, a parallel universe version of Earth-X has been created. Snart was introduced, and he temporarily joined the Legends. He was first seen in The Flash. In addition, the various time-travel possibilities make his return even more possible.

Meanwhile, Legends of Tomorrow season 6 has officially started production. The series encountered several setbacks, with filming being pushed back due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now that they begin working, everyone is being careful to avoid interruptions along the way.

A photo featuring the cast was shared of the show's official Instragam, confirming they've resumed production. The caption notes: "The Legends are back to save the timeline." It features most of the cast members including Purcell, Matt Ryan John Constantine), and Jes Macallan (Ava Sharpe).

Also, Adam Tsekhman (Gary Green) and Shayan Sobhian (Behrad Tarazi) have been promoted as series regulars. However, some cast members won't be returning, such as Brandon Routh (the Atom), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Vixen), Courtney Ford (Nora Darhk). All of them departed in the fifth installment.

As for the release date, nothing is officially confirmed as of this writing. A lot of works are needed to be done for now, given that production has been delayed. But, Legends of Tomorrow season 6 is expected to arrive at some point in 2021 on The CW.
