The Demon Slayer movie, Mugen Train, is about to be out this week. As it precedes the Demon Slayer Season 2's story, fans wonder when the anime series' second installment will hit the small screen.
Demon Slayer is dubbed to be one of the best anime series of today. It even won the Best Anime award at the 2019 Newtype Anime Awards and bagged the Anime of the Year at the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
So, Season 1 is considered a masterpiece. Will Season 2 live up to its promise?
According to HITC, fans expect there will be a reveal trailer for Demon Slayer Season 2 next month. The clip may also come with other information about the anime series, along with the release date.
The second installment's story will continue the aftermath of the upcoming movie, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which will pick up the Season 1 finale's events. But as these installments will be a direct adaptation of the original manga series, some fans already have an idea of what will happen next in the second season.
Finance Rewind noted the plot of Demon Slayer revolves around Tanjirou Kamado, a boy who has lost his father after being killed by ghosts. So, he wants nothing but vengeance for his dad and continuously looks for the demons, thus the title.
Fox Exclusive added his sister, Nezuko, has also turned into a demon, although she still has human emotions and thought. With the help of the demon slayer Giyu Tomioka, he will do everything to avenge his dad and help his sister to turn into a human again.
Demon Slayer Season 2 may have the same cast as Season 1. Inosuke Hashibira, Kanao Tsuyari, Tanjiro Kamado, Satoshi Hino, Daisuke Hirakawa, Nezuko kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Genya Shinazugawa may all reprise their roles for the second season.
Demon Slayer is based on the Japanese manga series with the same name. It is written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge, serialized by Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump.
As of this month, the series' chapter now has 22 tankobon volumes. Viz Media publishes the manga series in English, while Shueisha translates it into English and Spanish on Manga Plus.
Demon Slayer Season 1 started airing in Japan last year. It would then be followed by the movie sequel, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.
As it has received worldwide critical acclaim, thanks to its animation and fight sequences, Demon Slayer Season 2 seems to be very promising. There are predictions the second season may be out in 2021.
