Apple now has 5G-enabled phones.

During its iPhone event, the biggest for Apple this year, it unveiled four new iPhone versions which are 5G-enabled: the iPhone 12, its mini version, its Pro version and the iPhone 12 Pro Max - which techies say is Apple's biggest upgrade.

All iPhone 12 versions are powered by A14 Bionic chip, which gives higher quality performance and more energy efficiency. Their screens are upgraded to Super Retina XDR OLED which gives off brighter colors and blacker blacks than LCD screens.

The standard iPhone 12, which will be available Oct. 23 at $799, is a much better upgrade from the older iPhones as it has sleeker design with ceramic shield front cover that is a better shockproof technology. It has the same size as iPhone 11 at 6.1 inches with green, blue, white, black and red variants.

The iPhone 12 mini mirrors its bigger version but with a 5.4-inch screen. All features of the standard iPhone 12 are available in its mini version but at $699 and will be available Nov. 13.

Both iPhone 12 and its mini have dual cameras with better lighting.

Also available for $999 beginning Oct. 23 is the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro. Like the less expensive iPhone 12, both its Pro versions have a sleeker design but with a storage capacity of 128 Gb and come in graphite, silver, deep sea blue and gold.

Meanwhile, the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is the largest, will be available Nov. 13 at $1,099.

5G is supposed to equate to faster speeds, making it easier for users to download games or movies. But getting those speeds can be tough. While telecom companies have been setting up 5G infrastructures, increases in speed are still hard to come by.
