Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to attract an audience these past few weeks. On Tuesday, she invited her followers on social media to play Among Us with her and stream it on Twitch to encourage its users and watchers to vote.

She posted the invite on Twitter, adding that she had never played it. She, then, asked her followers who they would want to see in the game with her.

AOC's fellow Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar immediately accepted the invite and expressed her interest on the same platform. They, later on, streamed the game after they set up their respective accounts and streaming equipment.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez streamed her game for three and a half hours. Her viewers reached 439,000 at its peak, making the material as the third most-watched video on Twitch, according to BBC. To date, Drake, reportedly, holds the record for the most-watched live stream on the platform, having over 600,000 viewers as he played Fortnite.

Following the game, the U.S. Representative's account received more than 550,000 followers. This is three times more than what her political counterparts have had on the platform.

Reports said that the likes of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are, also, on the platform with over 143,000 and 160,000 followers, respectively. They, however, utilize their accounts more on "political broadcasts" rather than live streams of games.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed her goals in doing the live stream. She emphasized in her initial invite that the purpose of it was to encourage everyone, especially those who are on Twitch, to vote.

As she begins her recording, AOC encouraged her audience to "vote for Blue." She noted again amid her game that that was the reason behind it all.

The same publication said that the U.S. Representative's move received a positive reception from the public. Many of the viewers, reportedly, deemed it as an "organic" way to establish connections with the younger generation, particularly in the United States.

Despite all the praise and commendation, there are some individuals who, also, criticized Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Many of them argued that it was a form of "electioneering."

In the end, though, AOC thanked everyone who tuned in and watched her live stream on social media. She noted that she had a "blast" with the rest of the individuals who played with her.

After the live stream ended, the video posted on Twitch has since received more than 4.7 million views, according to ABC.
