Netizens believe that Red Velvet Irene was the popular female who went on a verbal rampage against a photoshoot editor.
According to a report by All Kpop, Irene is currently under fire after netizens shared their suspicion that she was the female idol mentioned by the editor in a cryptic post.
It can be recalled that in an Instagram post, the editor referred to a female idol who went on a verbal rampage during a photoshoot. He claimed that he had an audio recording of the incident but he has not yet publicized the evidence.
Because the editor used the hashtags #psycho and #monster, many netizens believed that he was referring to Irene, who promoted for the subunit Red Velvet Irene and Seulgi last July.
"Psycho" was a song released by Red Velvet last year while "MONSTER" was released by Irene and Seulgi this year.
SM Entertainment has not yet responded to the controversy but the editor recently edited the post.The editor also interacted with netizens who tried to reach out to him. He said that he was going to see the matter through to the end, leading fans to believe that he will be posting the recording soon.
Meanwhile, Red Velvet Irene recently concluded filming for her debut movie Double Patty.
According to a report by Soompi, Double Patty is a story about young people who are working hard towards achieving their dreams. Irene will play the lead role of Lee Hyun Ji, a woman who aspires to be a news anchor. Shin Seung Ho will take on the character of Kang Woo Ram, a former ssireum athlete.
Shin Seung Ho said that he was happy to film with great senior actors and work with excellent staff members. He said that he will miss the filming atmosphere but he is excited to share the result of their hard work with theatergoers.
Irene also shared that she had a great time filming for her debut movie. She said time flew by fast but she is happy to show viewers the film in theaters.
Double Patty will be shown in theaters and OTT platforms. Director Baek Seung Hwan said they had a great time working on the movie. He said they will work hard towards completing a movie that viewers will enjoy.
It can be recalled that Irene was confirmed as the lead star for Double Patty last July. She previously starred in the web series Game Development Girls in 2016.
