BLACKPINK is one of the most successful K-pop groups in recent history. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa has reached superstardom status despite being in the industry for only less than five years.
That said, BLACKPINK is known all around the globe. Aside from their music videos, tours, and live performances, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa have endorsement deals, TV appearances, and more, making their faces very familiar to even non-K-pop fans.
And because of that, the BLACKPINK members are living a very different life than they did before. Prior to their debut, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are just regular girls who can go around the street whenever they want. However, going out is not easy for them anymore as they get recognized wherever they go.
While some fans are very respectful to artists’ privacy, there are some who couldn’t contain themselves and would invade the idol’s personal space. To avoid this matter, celebrities would disguise themselves so they could enjoy their downtime in peace.
During BLACKPINK’s recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host asked the girls if they were able to leave their homes without getting mobbed by fans, considering their popularity. The YG Entertainment girl group laughed at the question and revealed their technique in disguising themselves while in public.
“Just as long as we’re well covered up. It’s not a problem,” Rose said. Jimmy Kimmel then followed up the question, asking, “So, do you ever go out in disguises? I know masks are probably good. Do you ever wear hats, maybe a mustache, or beard, or something like that?”
Jennie first proclaimed that it’s a secret but proceeded to share their technique. The BLACKPINK star said that they usually wear hoodies and hats when they go out in public.
And since most of BLACKPINK’s stage outfits are very sexy and revealing, Rose said that they opted for a complete contrast for their streetwear. She shared that they try a more “manly” and “tough” style when they’re off the stage.
Meanwhile, newbies would go out and wear something extravagant to catch attention. This stint is one of the most successful approaches to be talked about on social media. But, BLACKPINK is already extremely popular, so they don’t feel the need to get more attention. In fact, they are trying to get less of it when they go out.
